Why my eBay cashback didn't track (and how to fix it)

You clicked through the portal, you checked out, and your dashboard is empty a week later. Here's what most likely went wrong.
The seven usual suspects
- Ad blocker stripped the affiliate parameter from the click-through URL.
- Competing browser extension (Honey, Karma, etc.) overwrote the last-click cookie at checkout.
- Session broke — you left eBay and came back via Google or a bookmark.
- Excluded category — gift cards, some Motors listings, a handful of specialty categories.
- Third-party coupon voided tracking on a portal that disallows external codes.
- Guest checkout on a different device from where the click-through happened.
- Refunded / cancelled — the pending cashback was reversed silently.
How to file a missing-cashback claim
Every major portal has a claims form. You'll need:
- eBay order number (from your eBay purchase history).
- Order total (pre-tax and post-tax).
- Approximate click-through timestamp.
- The browser and device you used.
Turnaround is typically 4–8 weeks. Approval isn't guaranteed — eBay has to confirm the sale was attributed correctly upstream — but honest claims are usually paid.
